As a member of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr Teixeira adheres to strict guidelines governing medical practice and advertising. Our fee structure for medical treatments also follows the recommended guidelines set out by the Australian Medical Association (AMA).
Cosmetic surgery fees may be out of the scope of those guidelines and generally, take into account the complexity and duration of the treatment, as well as the surgeonโs level of experience and qualifications.

Overall Cost of Surgery
Generally, the overall fees for surgery include several components:ย
- Surgeonโs fee, which includes the routine post-operative follow-up (six weeks)
- Anaesthetistโs fee
- The hospital or day surgery fee โ takes into account the length of surgery in theatre and length of hospital stay
- Investigations such as pathology and radiology (where applicable)
- Other costs (e.g. cost of implants, prosthesis, special dressings, etc.)
Important: Hospital and anaesthetist fees may be adjusted according to the length of surgery.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your surgery you can opt for revision surgery which is a surgical procedure which works to improve the results of a previous operation.
Revision surgery could be carried out for aesthetic or functional reasons. Pricing will be discussed with you at the time of consultation.

Surgical Fees
For privately insured patients, your private insurance will generally cover part of your surgeonโs fees. The remainder, also known as the gap, covers the costs of providing specialist healthcare that Medicare and private insurance rebates do not cover.
The amount of the โgapโ varies depending on the nature and complexity of the surgery. In all instances, a written estimate is provided prior to the procedure being scheduled.
We would strongly recommend all patients check with their private health fund to establish whether other costs apply.
A deposit is required to book surgery. It is fully refundable up to two weeks before the surgery date. Deposits may be non-refundable in the event of a late cancellation to cover administrative and operational costs.
Cosmetic Procedures
For certain cosmetic procedures (eg. meloplasty, lower blepharoplasty), no rebates are provided by either Medicare or your private health fund. In these cases, all fees will be invoiced to the patient.
